2014 AWPA Technical Committee Meetings
September 14-18, 2014 at the Westin Portland Harborview Hotel in Portland, Maine USA

Portland and the coastal Maine area is uniquely suited to host the 2014 Committee Meetings due to its easily accessible location, excellent meeting facilities, and and scenic outdoor activities. For more information on all there is to see and do there, please visit the Portland Convention and Visitors Bureau website.
Note: The deadline for all standardization proposals (new standards, revisions to or reaffirmation of existing standards, or withdrawal of standards) is 60 days prior to the commencement of the meetings. For the Fall 2014 Standardization Cycle, the deadline for all proposals was Thursday, 17 July 2014. Comments or suggested modifications of proposals shall be sent to the proponent of the proposal as soon as possible after proposals are posted to the appropriate committee pages. Any presentations or written materials to be discussed at the meetings shall be distributed to the proponent, the Technical Committee, and AWPA at least 20 days prior to the commencement of the meetings, which was Tuesday, 26 August 2014.
Hotel Reservations
The meetings will take place at The Westin Portland Harborview Hotel at 157 High Street in Downtown Portland, Maine. Formerly the Eastland Park Hotel, The hotel has just completed a massive two year, top to bottom renovation, re-opening in December 2013. The group rate for the meeting is USD $189 for a single or double room, but the deadline for hotel reservations at the group rate was August 12, 2014. Other room rates may be available during the dates of the event. Be sure to contact the hotel for more infomation.
Please make your reservations online by clicking the link above. If, however, it is not possible for you to reserve a room online, you may call the hotel's reservations line toll-free at
+1-855-811-0043 (or at +1-207-775-5411 if you have difficulties with the toll-free number). Be sure to mention that you are attending the AWPA meetings.
State and Federal government rates may be available to those who qualify. Each person is responsible for making his or her own hotel reservations. Please note that AWPA receives facility discounts and complimentary meeting room space if our attendees stay at the host hotel, which enables AWPA to keep its registration fees at relatively low rates. For this reason, we encourage you to stay at the Westin Hotel for this event if possible.
Meeting Registration
Registration is open to any person who wishes to attend the meetings and abide by the AWPA Technical Committee Regulations. AWPA members, however, may register at deeply discounted rates. If you are a non-member and wish to join AWPA so that you may take advantage of the member rate, please click here for more information on applying for AWPA membership.
Registration entitles one to attend all technical committee meetings, task group meetings, and the evening receptions. Meals and lodging are not included. Please note that registering for the meeting does not reserve a room for you at the hotel. You must make your hotel reservations individually.
Registration Fees are as follows:
Early Registration (ends August 1): $190 (members), $280 (non-members)
Pre-Registration (August 2-29): $250 (members), $340 (non-members)
On-site Registration (September 14-18): $300 (members), $390 (non-members)
Please note that no refunds will be issued for cancellations.
(non-member rates are indeed higher than member rates...if you're not a member, please consider applying for AWPA membership - if approved, you will qualify for the member rate)
