2024 AWPA Technical Committee Meetings
September 16-19, 2024 at the Courtyard Marriott Austin Downtown Convention Center, Austin, Texas
Welcome to Austin! Years ago when people talked about Austin they would quickly mention the music. But that's just the beginning of what they're saying these days. Austin is also home to a wonderful ballet, world-class museums, one-of-a-kind shopping and beautiful outdoor spaces. With so many things to do in Austin, you can just as easily spend your morning paddling the lake as you can strolling through a celebrated history museum. Visit Austin
Note: The deadline for all standardization proposals (new standards, revisions to or reaffirmation of existing standards, or withdrawal of standards) is 75 days prior to the commencement of the meetings. For the 2024 Standardization Cycle, the deadline for all proposals was Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 11:59 pm EDT (US). Comments or suggested modifications may be posted to each proposal in the AWPA Standards Development Platform at least 20 days prior to the commencement of the meetings (the deadline for comments is Tuesday, August 27, 2024). All written materials and presentations for the meetings shall be submitted to the proponent, the Technical Committee members, and to AWPA no later than August 27, 2024.
Hotel Reservations
The meetings will take place at the Courtyard by Marriott Austin Downtown Convention Center, 300 E. 4th Street, Austin, 78701. The hotel places you in the heart of downtown and is in walking distance to so many attractions, restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and more. The deadline for hotel reservations at the group rate has passed but please call the hotel directly at 512-236-8008 for current rates and availability.
Meeting Registration
Registration is open to any person who wishes to attend the meetings and abide by the AWPA Technical Committee Regulations, Antitrust Compliance Policy, and AWPA Event Code of Conduct Policy. AWPA members, however, may register at discounted rates. If you are a non-member and wish to join AWPA so that you may take advantage of the member rate, please click here for more information on applying for AWPA membership.
Registration entitles one to attend all committee meetings, task group meetings, and the evening receptions. (Your spouse and/or guests must register at the special spouse/guest rate to attend the receptions, but not any committee meetings.) Meals and lodging are not included. Please note that registering for the meeting does not reserve a room for you at the hotel. You must make your hotel reservations individually.
Registration Fees for in-person participation are as follows:
- On-site Registration (September 15-19): $595 (members), $750 (non-members)
- Spouse/Guest Registration (ends August 30): $90
(Non-member rates are indeed higher than member rates...if you're not a member, please consider applying for AWPA membership - if approved, you will become eligible for the member rate)

Meeting Schedule
Proposals are found in the Standards Development Portal (member login required), and summaries of proposals are found on each committee's web page. Please contact email@awpa.com if you need the current link to the membership pages. Meeting agendas are also posted to each committee's web page as soon as they are received from the committee chairs.
NOTE: Meetings will NOT begin prior to their posted time - you must be present at roll call for each committee you're a member of in order for your vote(s) to be considered and to possibly maintain your voting status for the current cycle.
