2019 AWPA Technical Committee Meetings
September 15-19, 2019 at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, Alaska

Towering mountains, sparkling glaciers, amazing wildlife, and the AWPA Fall Technical Committee Meetings are the best of what Anchorage has to offer! From the serene waters of Cook Inlet to the natural wonders of the Chugach, Anchorage is your base for an incredible adventure.
AWPA previously met in Anchorage in September 2011, and the committee members have once again chosen Anchorage as the site for the 2019 Technical Committee meetings. While the primary focus of the meetings is the development of standards, be sure to come early or stay late and explore the surrounding area. Alaska is often a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many.

Note: The deadline for all standardization proposals (new standards, revisions to or reaffirmation of existing standards, or withdrawal of standards) is 75 days prior to the commencement of the meetings. For the 2019 Standardization Cycle, the deadline for all proposals is Wednesday, July 03, 2019 at 11:59 pm CDT (US). Comments or suggested modifications of proposals shall be sent to the proponent of the proposal as soon as possible after proposals are posted to the appropriate committee pages. Please remember: "All written materials to be distributed to Technical Committee members before or during the meeting and/or any visual presentations to be made at the meeting shall be submitted to AWPA, the proponent, and the Technical Committee members at least 20 days prior to the commencement of the meetings" (TCR 8.7).
Hotel Reservations
The meetings will take place in the Hotel Captain Cook at 939 West 5th Avenue in downtown Anchorage. The hotel is ideally located with many restaurants, attractions, and nightlife activities within walking distance. Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is approximately 6 miles away, and you can get to the hotel by taxi, rideshare, or public transportation. The deadline for hotel reservations at the group rate is August 22, 2019. The group rate is $159 plus tax for a standard room, but upgraded suites are also available at higher rates. Call the hotel for more details. A one-night deposit will be collected at the time of booking. Online reservations are available, but if you prefer to book by phone, call the hotel toll-free at 800-843-1950 or 907-276-6000 and mention you're attending the AWPA conference. Please note that the hotel is completely sold out on at least one night.

Meeting Registration
Registration is open to any person who wishes to attend the meetings and abide by the AWPA Technical Committee Regulations. AWPA members, however, may register at deeply discounted rates. If you are a non-member and wish to join AWPA so that you may take advantage of the member rate, please click here for more information on applying for AWPA membership.
Registration entitles one to attend all committee meetings, task group meetings, and the evening receptions. (Your spouse and/or guests must register at the special spouse/guest rate to attend the receptions.) Meals and lodging are not included. Please note that registering for the meeting does not reserve a room for you at the hotel. You must make your hotel reservations individually.
Registration Fees are as follows:
- Early Registration (ends July 31): $325 (members), $425 (non-members)
- Pre-Registration (August 1-26): $400 (members), $500 (non-members)
- On-site Registration (September 9-13): $450 (members), $550 (non-members)
- Spouse/Guest Registration (ends August 26): $50
Please note that no refunds will be issued for cancellations.
