2015 AWPA Technical Committee Meetings
September 20-24, 2015 at the Inn at Laurel Point in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

REMEMBER: If you are traveling from the U.S. or other places outside of Canada, please make sure your passport is up-to-date before you travel!
Victoria is a unique blend of old world charm and new world experiences, making it an excellent venue for our 2015 Fall Technical Committee Meetings. Victoria normally has great weather in late September, and there are many ways to get there. For more information on all there is to see and do in Victoria, please visit the Tourism Victoria website.
Note: The deadline for all standardization proposals (new standards, revisions to or reaffirmation of existing standards, or withdrawal of standards) is 75 days prior to the commencement of the meetings. For the Fall 2015 Standardization Cycle, the deadline for all proposals was Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 5:00 pm CDT (US). Comments or suggested modifications of proposals shall be sent to the proponent of the proposal as soon as possible after proposals are posted to the appropriate committee pages. Any presentations or written materials to be discussed at the meetings shall be distributed to the proponent, the Technical Committee, and AWPA at least 20 days prior to the commencement of the meetings, which was Tuesday, September 1, 2015.
Hotel Reservations
The meetings will take place at the Inn at Laurel Point at 680 Montreal Street in Inner Harbour Victoria. This hotel offers breath-taking views and a recent floor-to-ceiling renovation in the mildest climate in Canada. The Inn at Laurel Point's location in Victoria's Inner Harbour is the perfect location for the 2015 Committee Meetings due to its meeting facilities and its close proximity to many restaurants, attractions, and nightlife activities. The hotel is only two blocks from the terminal for the Port Angeles and Seattle ferries, and five blocks from the float plane docks. The hotel is about a 30 minute drive from Victoria International Airport. The group rate for single or double occupancy is $165 Canadian dollars for a single or double room in the Laurel Wing of the hotel, and $205 Canadian dollars for a room in the Erickson Wing. Rates are higher if there are three or more adults in the room. The deadline for hotel reservations at the group rate was Tuesday, August 4, 2015.
The group room block has closed, so you might try to obtain reservations by calling the hotel's reservations line toll-free at +1-800-663-7667 (or at +1-250-386-8721 if you have difficulties with the toll-free number). The hotel's in-house telephone reservations desk is open weekdays from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm Pacific time and 7:00 am to 8:00 pm Pacific time on weekends. Be sure to mention that you are attending the AWPA meetings.
Government rates may be available to those who qualify. Each person is responsible for making his or her own hotel reservations. Please note that AWPA receives facility discounts and complimentary meeting room space if our attendees stay at the host hotel, which enables AWPA to keep its registration fees at relatively low rates. For this reason, we encourage you to stay at the host hotel for this event if possible.
Meeting Registration
Registration is open to any person who wishes to attend the meetings and abide by the AWPA Technical Committee Regulations. AWPA members, however, may register at deeply discounted rates. If you are a non-member and wish to join AWPA so that you may take advantage of the member rate, please click here for more information on applying for AWPA membership.
Registration entitles one to attend all committee meetings, task group meetings, and the evening receptions. Meals and lodging are not included. Please note that registering for the meeting does not reserve a room for you at the hotel. You must make your hotel reservations individually.
Registration Fees in U.S. Dollars are as follows:
Early Registration (ends July 31): $215 (members), $315 (non-members)
Pre-Registration (August 1-31): $275 (members), $375 (non-members)
On-site Registration (September 20-24): $325 (members), $425 (non-members)
Please note that no refunds will be issued for cancellations.
(non-member rates are indeed higher than member rates...if you're not a member, please consider applying for AWPA membership - if approved, you will qualify for the member rate)
