San Diego is one of the most popular locations in the country for meetings and conventions because of all it has to offer...typically great weather, lots of activities, abundant dining and nightlife, and of course, excellent meeting facilities. Plan your trip today at the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau website.

Note: The deadline for all standardization proposals (new standards, revisions to or reaffirmation of existing standards, or withdrawal of standards) is 60 days prior to the commencement of the meetings. For the Fall 2012 Standardization Cycle, the deadline for all proposals was Thursday, 19 July 2012. Comments or suggested modifications of proposals shall be sent to the proponent of the proposal as soon as possible. Any presentations or written materials to be discussed at the meetings shall be distributed to the proponent, the Technical Committee, and AWPA at least 20 days prior to the commencement of the meetings, which was Tuesday, 28 August 2012.

Hotel Reservations
The meetings will take place at the Andaz Hyatt Hotel at 600 F Street in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego. IMPORTANT: the Andaz contains three of San Diego's hottest night spots - the Ivy Wine Bar, the Ivy Nightclub and the Ivy Rooftop, which are open until 2 am on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. For those who are staying at the hotel Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday nights, you won't notice a thing. If, however, you're in the hotel on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night, please understand that the hotel has a lively, adult friendly atmosphere on those nights, and noise may be heard throughout the hotel, including the guest rooms. The hotel has agreed to place our attendees in the quietest rooms on those nights. For those who are interested, AWPA attendees will receive VIP and Priority access to the clubs on those nights! The group rates for the meeting are as follows:

Please note that this is a boutique property, so they do not have an unlimited supply of rooms in each category. Room types may be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend booking early to get the type of room you prefer as well as to ensure availability. For the upgraded rooms (King and Large King) availability may be limited by date, so contact us if you would like one of these rooms for a longer period of time.

State and Federal government rates may be available to those who qualify. Each person is responsible for making his or her own hotel reservations. The cut-off date for hotel reservations was Monday, 13 August 2012. Please note that AWPA receives discounts and complimentary meeting room space if our attendees are staying at the host hotel, enabling AWPA to keep its registration fees at relatively low rates. For this reason, we encourage you to stay at the Andaz Hyatt Hotel.

Meeting Registration
Registration is open to any person who wishes to attend the meetings and abide by the AWPA Technical Committee Regulations. AWPA members, however, may register at deeply discounted rates. If you are a non-member and wish to join AWPA so that you may take advantage of the member rate, please click here for more information on applying for AWPA membership.

Registration entitles one to attend all technical committee meetings, task group meetings, and the evening receptions. Meals and lodging are not included. Please note that registering for the meeting does not reserve a room for you at the hotel. You must make your hotel reservations individually.

Registration Fees are as follows:

Early Registration (by August 12): $155 (members), $250 (non-members)
Pre-Registration (August 13-September 4): $180 (members), $275 (non-members)
On-site Registration (September 16-20): $205 (members), $300 (non-members)
Please note that no refunds will be issued for cancellations.

(non-member rates are significantly higher than member rates...if you're not a member, please consider applying for AWPA membership - if approved, you will qualify for the member rate)
