Formal Interpretation of Standards

When there appears to be a conflict between AWPA Standards, or the content of a Standard is unclear, Section 13 of the AWPA Technical Committee Regulations allow for a formal interpretation process.  Listed below are the formal interpretations issued by AWPA:

Standard A5-05

Request for interpretation of A5-05 Method 5 Sections 7 and 8 (Determination of Chloride for Calculating Pentachlorophenol in Wood) by the Missouri Department of Agriculture (17 March 2006)

Standard P9-06

Request for interpretation of P9-06 Section A regarding co-solvents by Forest Products Research Laboratory LLC (20 March 2009)  NOTE:  Consensus not reached by interpretation panel, therefore, the issue was referred to Subcommittee P-3 on 22 April 2009.

Request for interpretation of P9-06 Section A regarding co-solvents by The Pacific Wood Preserving Companies (25 May 2009)  NOTE:  Consensus not reached by interpretation panel, therefore, the issue was referred to Subcommittee P-3 on 26 June 2009.

Standard T1-06

Request for interpretation of T1-06 Section/Table 8.4.1 (Processing Limitations for Solid Wood Poles) by Texas Electric Cooperatives (19 July 2006)
