SPECTRO Analytical Instruments

The
SPECTRO Texas Location, formerly ASOMA Instruments, has been making
rugged wood analyzers since 1986. In 1986 ASOMA introduced the
first wood analyzer, the radioisotope based ASOMA LCA for the
analysis of CCA & PENTA that was soon followed by the models 100 and
200. In 1991 an x-ray tube based analyzer, the Model 200T, was
released that offered an alternative to the radioisotope analyzers.
In 1998 SPECTRO Analytical Instruments GMBH acquired ASOMA.
While the name was changed, the same Texas facility continues to
support and manufacture the wood analyzers. In 2003 the
PHOENIX was released with a new robust design that kept the same
user friendly interface along with the same low cost.
As with the ASOMA analyzers, the
SPECTRO PHOENIX Wood Analyzer can quickly and accurately provide
analyses of many wood treatment products. With the help of
several chemical suppliers, the PHOENIX can be pre-calibrated from a
selection of products including CCA, Copper Oxide, Copper Azole,
Copper Naphthenate, Penta, and Zinc Borate.
With changing environmental
regulations, the PHOENIX can be adapted to analyze many of the new
wood preservatives that are being tested such as sulfur, silicon, or
tin. The SPECTRO Texas Location remains committed to providing
wood treatment and testing facilities with unwavering support to
adjust to these regulatory changes and to continue to offer a
low-cost, durable analyzer for the wood treating industry.
